Notes about puppies and the heat: Please keep in mind that you need to consider the air and pavement temperatures when taking your pup with you. Best time for summer outings is early morning or in the evening. Be sure to provide plenty of water and extra relieving opportunities. Indoor malls are good places to go to cool off during the day. Or maybe a library. If the temperature is over 85 degrees it may not be appropriate to take your pup with you. Test for pavement temp with your hand. Be sure that you can leave your hand on the asphalt for several minutes without it getting too hot. If you can do this then your pup can probably walk on the pavement or concrete to get in and out of stores. If not, park where you can have your pup transfer from the car in a shady area such as underground or covered parking. If you are with another person have them let you off at the door and then meet you inside.
